DALLAS, TX – JM Bullion, a Dallas, Texas-based online bullion dealer founded in 2011 that extensively deals in precious metals such as gold and silver, announced this week they have acquired the “ultra-premium” Gold.com domain name, adding it to an extensive array of high-profile domains that also includes Silver.com.

A subsidiary of publicly traded A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc., JM Bullion’s purchase of Gold.com – brokered by Andrew Miller of ATM Holdings, Inc. in conjunction with Hilco Digital Assets – was made for an undisclosed sum, although given the domain’s lofty status in the internet hierarchy, it certainly didn’t come cheap.

Gold.com had been registered under Whois privacy, so the identity of the seller is not publicly known.

JM Bullion CEO Robert Pacelli explained the reason why his firm made acquiring the Gold.com asset a significant priority in a press release announcing the purchase that was issued on Monday.

The acquisition of the Gold.com domain represents a significant investment in our direct-to-consumer growth strategy,” he said. “The Gold.com domain carries broad global appeal and is an extremely versatile asset that will be incorporated into our long-term strategy. Prominent, single word domains are in high demand due to their scarcity, and benefits of such domains include instant brand recognition and enhanced marketability.”

It’s rare to have an opportunity to acquire a category defining asset such as this, and we are excited to add the domain to our expanding portfolio,” Pacelli continued. “All Gold.com traffic is currently being redirected to the JMB website, providing visitors with seamless access to the company’s extensive range of products and services.”

Congrats with @HilcoDigital to an awesome buyer and seller! Excited to see this unfold with the team at JM Bullion and Amark. They were such a pleasure to work with! https://t.co/c6v7TK24TO #domains #brands #categorykiller #digitalassers

Owning a significantly high-profile domain name can be a game-changing asset for any business, and this underscores the degree to which investors will put serious money into a domain name that defines an entire industry. While there are many entities that engage in the trade of precious metals, JM Bullion now controls the two most valuable domain names – Gold.com and Silver.com – in that field.
