SCOTTSDALE, AZ – As verified by domain registry operator Radix, Casino.online, a casino review website, has announced they have purchased the “betting.online” domain for the price of $400,000. The price is record-setting for domain transactions within the generic top-level domains (gTLDs) category and currently ranks as the joint fifth-highest domain sale across all top-level domains (TLDs) for 2023.

Casino.online’s CEO, Patrick Gerhard, issued a statement commenting on the acquisition of betting.online, saying the domain is very valuable and will be used to further elevate the company’s web presence going forward.

The acquisition of betting.online is a significant milestone for us,” he said. “We envision leveraging this .online domain to fortify our industry presence. Such high-value domains align perfectly with our brand’s vision and objectives.”

Gerhard’s company had earlier acquired the casino.online domain for over $200,000 in 2017.

According to statistics, over 160,000 monthly visitors currently visit Casino.online, with their homepage stating that the website “has been formed by a team of online casino experts who have been in the industry for decades. Casinos are in our blood and we’ve made it our goal to provide the most comprehensive casino review website in the world. We break each casino review into detailed sections covering everything you need to know!”

Three European gaming domains – Casino.se, Casino.gr and Casino.pt – were recently sold by global digital media company XLMedia as part of a $4 million all-cash transaction. And in November 2022, Gambling.com Group acquired Casinos.com from Caesars for a reportedly large – yet undisclosed – sum, and currently operates the website as an affiliate site that offers visitors affiliate links to web-based casinos, bonus codes, and reviews of internet and real-world casinos.

In 2018, new top level domain company Donuts sold the domain name Online.Casino for $510,000.
